Ten years ago, I ...
... was living in Portage La Pararie
... had one of my favourite teachers
... was in a split class
... was getting to know someone who is now one of my best friends in the world
... was about to go through a couple rough (compared to the other yearsin my life, not to the general public) year

Five years ago, I ...
... was getting ready to go to Canterbury
... had only three good friends
... had my first murder mystery
... was celebrating my first year as a vegetarian
... started loving Ottawa

Two years ago, I ...
... was proud of my voice
... ran for spirit team and got to know some of my good freinds even better
... had my last visit from my best(?) friend
... got my G1
... got the top mark of a class for the first and last time

One year ago, I ...
... was determined to get to know the altos
... took a trip with my vocal class to Toronto
... applied to a pile of universities
... planned to travel europe
... was not ready to move out

Today, I ...
... work at value village
... got a birthday card
... am ready to move out
... am listening to Marit Larsen/Marion Raven and actually like their music. They seem to grow with me!
... am making chocolate covered strawberries

Tomorrow, I will ...
... call concordia
... heckle people about their inability to RSVP
... sleep late
... send shera mail and tell her how much I appreciate her friendship
... give someone a hug

take your lj username and replace each letter with the corresponding number (A=1, B=2, etc...).
f=7
a=1
i=9
o=15
l=12
i=9
h=8
o=15
p=16
e=5

2. add all of the numbers together to create a kind of super number.
=97

3. add the digits of the number together.
=16

4. find the date of the last post in your LJ.
=05/24/06

5. take the digit you noted in step 3, and count that many words into the post.(real words)
= status

6. use the resulting word in a google image search, and select a picture from the first page and post the results.

Voice: Avoid overusing ‘direct address’. This is when, for example, every time John addresses Jane he says her name. This is unrealistic and to be blunt, really annoying. In addition, it sometimes leaves the audience feeling as if you are insulting their intelligence.

Mary: Hey Sara!

Sara: Hey Mary!

Mary: How are you Mary?

Sara: I’m doing great Sara, real great.

Mary: Really? Me too Sara!

Sara: Do you think they’ve caught on to our names yet Mary?

Mary: I’m not sure Sara, we should make sure.

The timing should done in a way that the following blurbs sound like ‘blah blah blah Sara-Mary’ until the end where Mary and Sara should just be screaming each others names at each other.

Mary: Sara! How are you doing Sara? Sara: Wow Mary. You’re looking
Having a good day Sara? How’re the good Mary. Lost some weight Mary? Children Sara? Like the weather I thought so Mary! Can’t Sara It’s been a while hasn’t believe Just ten years ago
it Sara? Sara! Sara! Sara! your husband left you for
SARAAAA! Mary. Mary! MARY! JENNN!

Abrupt halt to shouting

Mary:(surprised) Jen?

Mary and Sara freeze

Voice: Avoid too much exposition in dialogue. This is “dialogue that has a character repeat information for the benefit of the audience.” Often repetition is unnecessary. This is another one of those things that will result in people feeling insulted.

Sara unfreezes and addresses audience

Sara: Hello, my name is Sara. I work at Mr. Brown’s Book Shop. Mr. Brown is a kindly old man. ‘Sara’ he says, Sara’s my name you see, ‘Sara one day when I’m gone you will own this book shop. And you can go through all these books and rip out the last page of every single one.’ I, being the naturally curious person I am, I ask him why. ‘Sara’ he says, he says Sara a lot I notice, ‘So no one in this book store will have closure.’ I ask him why he just doesn’t do it. ’What do you think I am Sara? Crazy?! Do you think I’m crazy Sara?!’ I don’t know why but this made me feel like I’d been insulted. Me and Mr. Brown don’t talk anymore. I think it may have something to with me leaving his son. I was surprised because I was quite fond of Mr. Brown. I was also surprised because Sara is a Hebrew name. I’m not sure if you’d know that. Sara’s a Hebrew name that means princess. I certainly wasn’t being treated as one and my name certainly is Sara.

Sara Freezes

Voice: Avoid phonetic spelling when using dialect, non-standard grammar or individual pronunciation. Also avoid slang. Slang dates your play. This may be useful if you’d like to put your play in the 80s but using present day slang may hinder the message of your play if it is read after this slang is no longer understood but the majority of people. Phonetic spelling gives people headaches to read.

It makes one warm and fuzzy inside to know one can rely on others and one doesn't have to be obsessive to get things done. That doesn't stop one from being paranoid. But at least one feels warm and fuzzy while doing so.

Wow~! I made a subject and everything **beams with pride** it's been a while since I've done that. So.. life.. Yeah... no. I didn't go to Chris' birthday party today because I feel so sick >< and haven't been able to sleep well and my voice is gone and I really hope that it comes back before classes start cause vocal will be a bitch if it doesn't. But I bought a nice hot pink dress that I am going to wear to the first day of school. It makes me quite happy. It's perfect for if we have an 80's sock hop and I dress it up right. (this means leg warmers and bad hair) Woo~! and I bought another dress thats black and very 50's esque. Retro things make me happy. But I still feel like crap >< and my brother has that annoying spray deoderant, you know the stuff. And he sprayed so much of it that it woke me up and I couldn't breath let alone get back to sleep. I have developed a habit of ending phrases like this~! (see the annoying '~!')Meh, whatever floats your proverbial boat. I'm not actually sure if that boat is proverbial, don't go by me, but it does sound amusing.

Did you ever notice how there's a direct corelation between how bad you feel and how little neocitrin you can find in the world? Well there is.

I listen to the sounds of my house, eyes closed . Dad is plucking away at his guitar. Weeping Widow, Blackbird and another song in the middle I don't recognize but he later identifies as Classical Gas. Scott is typing at the computer, faster and faster as my mum gives him a five minute warning before they depart for his baseball game. Eventually it just sounds like he's slamming his fists against the kayboard, hitting a hundred keys at once. My life may not be exciting but it makes me happy :) <--end with smiley
